Bright spots in the brain

Hi;
An MRI was recently performed on my infant, who is about 2 months old. I was told that the bright spots we have in our brain were a litle brighter for him. Because of this, my son has been on tube feeding since he was born. The doctors do not have a diagnosis because my son has been improving. He take the bottle for an average of two ounces, and takes 1.5 more by the tube. He had low muscle tone, but it has gotten a lot better, to the point that I don't even notice floppy hands anymore. Also, poor sucking skills, but he is sucking, somehow he gets tire or full and does not take the bottle after his 2 ounces.
Do you know the function of these bright spots? And how can this affect my infant? They have not said its cerebral palsy, but there is diagnosis. I am very confused.

It can be very confusing when doctors are looking for a diagnosis. We are glad your son is doing better and hope he continues to improve.
We recommend that your son is evaluated by a neurologist (if he hasn't been evaluated already). In addition, your son may benefit from having a genetic consultation with a medical geneticist. A medical geneticist can review your son's medical history, your pregnancy history, perform a detailed physical exam and collaborate with his doctors.
You can find a medical geneticist at the American College of Medical Genetics website. Best wishes to you and your family.
