Hi, my son is 21yrs and he has DiGeorge with VCS. He is now losing his hair. I want to know is losing his hair is part of the disease. He is being treated with steroids shot to the head. I'm a little concern and wonder if he hair will ever grow back. He starting losing his hair for about a year now. The doctors can't tell me why his is losing his hair only that maybe the steroids shot will help.

Thanks
Mary

Losing hair is not a common feature of deletion 22q11.2 syndrome. As you are probably already aware, there are many, varying features and symptoms associated with deletion 22q11.2 syndrome. We recommmend that you contact the Division of Reproductive Genetics, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Pennsylvania Medical Center, Philadelphia, PA, which has expertise in this syndrome.
