Egg donor with Major Depressive Disorder
Our questions to you are:

-Do these drugs effect the quality of eggs and eggs may not fertilized or embryo produced is not  normal or baby born will have birth defects?

- what are the chances that baby born  (from egg donated by this donor) has same medical conditions?

We'll appreciate your early response.

HI,
Susceptibility to major depression may be related to genetic factors. However it is difficult to predict whether the baby born form donor eggs of a woman with major depression will have the same problem. The quality of embryos in an IVF cycle is properly screened and the a risk of bad quality embryos is eliminated. Consult a genetic counsellor for further advice.
Hope this helps.
