Hemochromatosis

I am a 50 year old Female and I have Hereditary Hemochromatosis. I also have the Defective Gene. I went for my first Therapeutic Phlebotomy and after my pint of blood was drawn...I passed out..BIG TIME...I was told I "vaseled"? I was told my pulse dropped, my blood pressure dropped, I lost my bladder and I ended up in the Emergency Room. What happened to me? I went in for a bloodletting session and ended up in the ER? Is this common?
