MTHFR heterozygous and colon cancer risk

I recently had a DVT for which I am on warfarin.  The specialist investigted causality and came to the conclusion that I have elevated Lp(a) and am hetrozygous for MTHFR.  I have done some research and am not terribly happy with my profile and future health prospects.  It seems to me that these two syndromes are additive putting me in a 'double jeopardy' position.  Please comment.  I am 50y/o, male, non-smoker with normal BP (115/70) and mildly elevated TC.

I have tried a couple different locations of this forums to get a similar question answered.

I too recently found out that I have the MTHFR mutation and the factor V deficiency.  I know that the factor V help explains why I had the mysterious MI 3 years ago, ( I was an otherwise healthy 28 Yr old woman).  I do have a family history of early cardiac events. I was placed on folic acid for the MTHFR and was already on ASA due to the MI (that was the treatment that doc stated would be for the FVL).  Do you know of anyother complications for the MTHFR, except the birth defect issue?
