My Award Winning Positive Huntington's disease Page

by Heather Dugdale, Mar 02, 2008 12:39PM
I am 24, am experiencing Huntington’s disease symptoms.  My family is one of the few in the world who have early onset. I was a Nurse before I got sick. I made a positive, comprehensive website. It has a blog, care giving tips, ways to fight brain fog, myths, my story, my families’ story, history, ways to have a positive testing experience, and ways to cope. I also put on there the poems I got published in the horizon. I have won more awards in a short period time than any other site.

My family also has early onset. I have a cousin only 12 yrs old, I too have had the disease now for 8 yrs, I just turned 33. It is hard at times to see my teenage children go through this with me.Staying positive for them is the best med. for all of us. My children will make the fourth generation that will endure this monster. My mother died at 48 two years ago, we took care of her for 8 yrs. I sometimes believe that I was so busy taking care of ger to pay any attention on me. Now all I hear is you look like grandma and sound like her. Unfortunately I have more movements. Every generation seems to get earlier and earlier.   What frustrates me is I am 1 of 14 kids and everyone else pretends the disease doesn't exist.marie777
