Identical twins are not commonly familial. The overall incidence is about 4 per 1,000 pregnancies.

Fraternal twins are more common in certain ethnic populations, such as African-Americans. Certain factors may increase the risk of having twins, such as fertility treatments and a maternal history of twins. Hope this information is helpful.

I had sex with my husband July 10th. We have 4 healthy kids. I have never miscarried or givin a child up. July 13th we took the plan b pill due to intercource and condom breaking. We went to doc today. She did vaginal ultra snd to find to black sacs. She said this is twins but no sign of bb hbeat anything yet. The sac in the back was also less than half the size of the frst 1. Im so overjoyed of this, but now sadned that these bbs may not make it. Is there any info u can give me. Is this normal? She sent me 4 some hcg level and is retesting next wk along with another usound. Any info would b helpful. TY Angel DAvis
