Lost of a grandpa

How do I overcome the lost of my lovely grandpa he was the rut n foundation of our family I have not seen him in over 20 years n hearing this bad news has given me a heart n sense of guilt is not that I didn't want to see him is just because of circumstances that were unforeseen that I couldn't go plus he was out of state I'm just in so much pain I can't even sleep he was 99 n 1/2 years old  please help me overcome my lost :'(
