Missing My Grandpa Tonight

It has been many years since I lost my grandfather.  That doesn't mean that I don't miss him.  Sometimes late at night I think about him.  I guess I think about my Nana too (his wife).  
My grandfather meant the world to me.  He was my best friend, and it's still hard to talk about him without stirring up emotion.  I have found a very odd way to keep him alive, I will remember all of the things I loved about him.  From that I will find people who have those qualities.  
I also remember that from the ashes of his life, arose my best friend, my husband.  He is more like my grandpa than anyone I have ever met.  I still miss my grandfather every day.  I know he is there watching over me, just like he did when he was here with me.  
Just because he is not here doesn't mean that I don't tell him everything.

i'm so sorry for your loss.  i lost my dad 7 years ago and i think about him everyday.  i was with him at the end.  he died a very peaceful death.  i smelt my mom's perfume (chanel no5) and i told him "mom's here".  and he died.  so i know that they're together.  my dad loved my mom so much, he couldn't go on without her.  he did last 5 years past her death which was surprising.  i hope you know that he's looking down on you and watching over you always.  god bless you.  belle

Thanks so much for your kind words.  You don't know how much they mean to me, to know that I am not alone.  
Sometimes I can still smell his soap, and almost hear him talking to me.
