Abnormal hormone lab results

My sis did hormone tests and her results were high prolactin level (431.8 mIU/L) and low testosterone level (1.93 nmol/L).

The tests were done on her 3rd day of period and she's 30 not married and doesn't have any children.

What might be wrong?

Hi!
She definitely needs to follow up with an endocrinologist.  Very likely they will recommend an MRI of her brain to look at her pituitary gland.  It sounds like she may have a pituitary adenoma which is a non-cancerous tumor of the pituitary gland that produces way too much prolactin.  Most of the time these tumors can be shrunk with medications such as Parlodel.  Often people with these tumors will have no periods. (though I guess your sister does have them). They may also have breast milk.  They can have abnormal thyroid hormone levels too, so she should get those checked.  They may also want to test her visual fields, to make sure that the tumor is not causing any problem with her eyesight.

An endocrinologist is the right doctor for her!
Good luck!
