Acid like burning from the vagina to the rectum

Acid like burning from the vagina to the rectum

I am 44 years old.  About 2 months ago my husband and I used a condom for the first time and about 2 days later I started having this insane burning that feels as if acid was poured on the skin down in that region.  I don't know if the latex in the condom could have caused it.  I do however have many different food allergies.  The other concern is that I was wondering if the lubricant could of caused this.  Along with the burning there is a slight itch.  I do feel as though I have a continuous discharge even though there is no evidence of this.  I also feel as though I have an odor, not like a fishy or nasty odor, but a new odor from the area, even though my husband says there is nothing different.  If it is a reaction from the condom, how do I get it to stop?  I thought that maybe it was a yeast thing so I used monistat 7.  While I was using it all symptoms stopped, but now that I am done they are coming back with a vengance.  Please help!

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would ask you to come in for an exam. I would perform a wet mount looking for yeast, and if positive, I would treat with Diflucan which is an oral medication.  It is entirely possible the you have had a reaction to the condom or the lubricant, and I would suggest avoiding both in the future.  For an allergic dematitis, a steroid preparation is often helpful, something like Clobetasol might work nicely.  In the meantime while you are waiting to see your doctor, Crisco (vegetable shortening) applied topically can give a lot of relief and won't worsen the reaction.
Good luck!
