Alittle Freaked Out-Looking for comfort

I've had excessive bleeding this past month, pain during/after intercourse.  Have a history of cysts on my ovaries.  Gyn sent me for ultrasound for symptons and found the lining of my uterus hs thinkened so they decided to biopsy.  During biopsy today I was told my cervix was completely closed.  I was asked if I had it closed in the past.  answer was no.  Asked if I ever had children- answer yes two.  I was told they were going to rush the pathology.  I'm starting to worry something is wrong....  Does this sound familiar to anyone out there?

Hi!
Ok--I'm guessing here, but what I've seen before goes something like this:
For some reason ( one reason could be a biopsy of the cervix ) the cervix decides to scar closed. When this happens the uterus gradually fills with blood and becomes distended and tender.  Periods tend to be irregular, maybe light or spotty.  The ultrasound shows a thickened endometrium.  A biopsy is performed ( it is sometimes rather difficult to open the cervix--and can be extra painful ) Usually quite a bit of tissue is obtained and sent off for pathology, and usually the results are normal.

Normally when someone has had children their cervix is open a little wider than is the case for someone who hasn't had children--perhaps the reason for the question (?)

If the biopsy has cleared up the scar tissue and opened the cervix back up, the periods go back to normal and the pain is improved, and as long as the cervix remains open, things go back to normal.

Does any of this sound familiar?  I hope this is your scenario!  Sometimes, the biopsy alone is not enough, and the cervix needs to be dilated with a D&C/anesthesia, but quite often the biopsy itself is the cure.

Good luck!
