Am I sensitized?

Am I sensitized?

I am an Rh Negative mother. I gave birth to my first child and had a Rhogam shot within 72hours after delivery. Then just last year I had a miscarriage but I didn't know that until I bled for about 2 weeks and checked for a PT with positive result. I think I was about 2-3 weeks preggy at that time (but idk really coz I just had my period the previous month). And I'm guessing that the cause of which is because of the medicines I've been taking when I was sick. I never got a Rhogam shot after. Am I sensitized? And I think am now pregnant coz am already 1week delayed but will still check for my PT next week. What will happen to my baby if I'm pregnant? Will I get a miscarriage? Can I have a Rhogam shot as early as trimester pregnancy? Please help. My husband is Rh Positive. But we are wondering why I've got the pregnancy symptoms when we always use a condom.

Thank you,
Jane

Hi!
It is very rare to become Rh sensitized to a very early miscarriage.  This is simply because the amount of blood in the fetus that could possibly transfer to the mother is so small.  Also, you will be checked for sensitization on your first ob visit (if you are pregnant), and followed closely if you are. Even if you are sensitized (worst case scenario) you are unlikely to run into problems before 20 weeks if at all.
So, please don't worry about Rh disease!  It is very uncommon these days!
Good luck!

Thank you for your response. I have a follow-up question. Are condom babies really possible?
