Been bleeding for two months and hurting please help

I have pcos. For the past two months I have been spotting
My doctor did an ultra sound and pelvic examine. Noticed uterus was
A little enlarged. She put me on birth control to try to regulate me. I have been on
It for one week and am bleeding more.

What can I do to stop bleeding and what would cause this. I also have pain on my right side.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise one of two approaches, either continue with the birth control pills as you are and wait a bit longer--they will eventually stop the bleeding. OR double up on the pills (two per day) until the bleeding stops then back to one per day for two packs.  Oral contraceptive pills are very good for cycle control, also for birth control, of course!  It can sometimes take your body awhile to get adjusted to them.  Whatever you do, don't stop taking them without speaking to your doctor.
As for the pain, that is difficult since the ultrasound presumably does not show anything on that side.  It is possible that you have something unrelated to your "female organs" going on, for example something like Irritable bowel syndrome.
Hope this helps!
