Brown blood on my period

Yesterday I was suppose to get my period but I didn't. So I had sex and then today I woke up and I started my period. Then later on I noticed on my tampon that there was no red on it, just brown and it didn't even fill it up. I have light periods anyways but this is extremely light for me. U have minor cramps which is weird because I never have them. It was unprotected sex that I had and I have no idea if I could be pregnant. Is there any chance that I could be pregnant the day after or does it take awhile to concieve (conceive)?

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you to do a pregnancy test now.  If it is positive, then you will need to schedule an appointment with your doctor.  
If it is negative you have some options.  If you want contraception (protection from pregnancy) you could take Plan B (emergency contraception) and the sooner the better.
You could wait and see if your period resumes and is normal.  If not, I would definitely suggest re-testing in the next 3-5 days.
You mention that you have no idea if you are pregnant or not.  If you DONT want to be pregnant, I would strongly suggest a pro-active approach -- schedule an appointment with your Ob/gyn and get some type of regular birth control.

Thank you so much! My period has still been super light. Would I have to wait for my next period to not come if I am pregnant?
