Can a Hsg Test help me concieve(conceive)?

i have a HSG test this tuesday. i was diagnosed with PCOS two months ago and i was treated for PID a month or two before with antibiotics. me and my partner have been trying to get a baby for a yr and months now and we r unsuccessful. i have been on metformin for two months now and i am trying to eat healthy. is there any chance the PID have affected my chances? and is there any chance the hsg will help?

There is definitely a chance that PID could affect your fertility.  In some instances it can cause quite signficant scarring of the fallopian tubes.  You will definitely want to inform your doctor that you have had PID recently.  If you were my patient, I would certainly want to check a sedimentation rate (marker of inflammation) before doing an HSG and I would also certainly want to treat you with prophylactic antibiotics. One option is to evaluate the tubes with ultrasound initially too, and consider laparoscopy if there are hydrosalpinges.
(tubes filled with water because the ends are scarred closed).
