Change in periods

I am a 36 year old female. I have always had heavy periods, lasting 7 days, every 28 days. This past couple of months my period stopped. last month I started my period which was light and was only 4 days. I know I am not pregnant. is it possible I am starting to go through menopause?

Hi!
It is quite common for women to have an unusual cycle every now and then.  It would be rather unlikely that you are starting menopause.  When this happens, I usually explain it by saying the the ovaries "misfired" or "fired a dud".  Most of the time the next cycle will be normal.  If this does become a pattern for you though, you should see your doctor.
Good luck!
