Clips

I have a friend who developed severe complications during childbirth 26 years ago. She almost died due to severe blood loss, in hospital for over a week. To stop the bleeding, there were 3 clips used. The clips are still in place. Is now in need of a hysterectomy, and current Gynecologist is unfamilier with these clips and feels that they pose a serious threat during surgery. Have you heard of these clips and any suggestions? We think she needs to see another specialist, but unsure of what type of specialist?

Surgical clips are often used to reduce or eliminate blood loss.  Your friend may have had some type of hypogastric artery ligation done with clips.  If she were my friend, I would have her evaluated by a gyn oncologist.  NOT because I think she has any type of cancer, but because they are the type of specialist with the most surgical knowledge and skills.
