Colscopy???

Colscopy???

Hey everyone, well about 3 months ago I had a traumatic miscarriage due to unknown reasons since no one knows why they happen. But now after i did my routine and all my OB-GYN results for my PAP came back abnormal, my doc says that I have to get a colscipy done to make sure that things down there are in order. By any chance, can HPV cause you to loose a child.? Right now im scheduled to have a colscopy done, yes Im freaking out but at them same time im trying to be at ease. Any insight would be greatly appreciated, I thought  was alone but doing research landed me on tis site!!

Hi!
Both miscarriages and hpv are very common, and in your case likely coincidental.  There is no causative role that I am aware of.  Colposcopy is an appropriate next step, and likely there will be several follow up paps while waiting for the infection to clear. (Most hpv infections in women under 30 clear spontaneously.) HPV should not affect your fertility, and would not be a contraindication to pregnancy, although ideally the infection would be under control before you attempt another pregnancy.
Good luck!
