Confusing Ultrasound

Confusing Ultrasound

I had both a transvaginal and pelvic ultrasound performed because of lower left pain with nausea.  The ultrasound revealed nothing either good or bad says my doctor, and that they could not locate my ovaries.  The uterus appeared normal.  Is there anything else that should be done in the way of testing to see what is going on here?  I have a history of polycystic ovarian syndrome and have had heavy periods for about the past 6 months with lots of clots.  Thank you for your help!

Hello,

If your symptoms are persistent, keep a diary of how you are feeling and notify your MD if they are getting worse.  If you are not satisfied with your MD, seek a second opinion.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing
