Hi, I am 24 years old and recently went to my gyn because I had been bleeding for 13 days for absolutley no reason. I have been on the same birth control for years, and I was in the middle of my pack. I hadn't missed any pills, so I knew it wasn't from that. This has never happened to me before. Two months prior I visited my dr. due to left side and pelvic pain, turned out I had a complex ovarian cyst. I went back to my doctor a couple days ago due to the bleeding.. thinking it was probably my cyst causing it.. during the transvaginal ultrasound, the tech discovered the cyst was gone, but noticed what she called an endometrial polyp. I looked at the ultrasound screen, and didn't really see anything. It didn't look like what I've seen on the internet. Afterwards my doctor came in and decided I needed a D&C and Hystoscopy.. "not sure on the spelling" I am scheduled to have it in 5 days. I am at day 21 of bleeding and it seems to be slowing up some.. it's turning more brown and not so bright red. In the past doctors have seen things on ultrasounds with me that turned out to not really be there.. "not gynocological ultrasounds" I guess I'm just worried that I'll get in the operating room and have this surgery and the doctor tell me there's nothing there... I think I'm having this concern because I myself couldn't really see the polyp on the ultrasound.. and two months prior there was no polyp seen on the ultrasound. Although.. the bleeding must be coming from somewhere. My mother, grandmother, and aunt- all maternal have had hysterectomys by age 35 due to severe endometriosis... Am I just being silly, the surgery really is best right?
Thanks so much for your time!
