Endometrium Biopsy - Post Menopausal

Endometrium Biopsy - Post Menopausal

I received my biopsy results today and they read: Fragmented endomentrial epithelium with extensive stromal breakdown - No evidence of malignancy.  I am post menopausal for 4 years and started extensive bleeding 5 days ago along with cramping and knife-like pain.  The progesterone I was give to stop the bleeding has worked nicely.  The pain remains and I just want to know what the biopsy means and any advise please.

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that first of all, you DON'T have cancer.
Secondly, you probably DO have an imbalance in your hormones which is common in women who are peri or post menopausal.  In a nutshell, because you are no longer ovulating regularly, you are not producing enough progesterone.  If you were my patient, I would consider treating with hormone therapy for awhile.
Good luck!
