Hi!
If you were my patient, I would advise you that there are many possibilities that the mass could be.  There is a wide range from a polyp, a fibroid, or even an endometrial cancer.  Before your surgery you will most likely have a pre op visit with your physician.  At that time you should bring a list of questions with you--ask your surgeon what he/she expects to find and when the actual pathology results will be back.  Ask your doctor how the results will be communicated to you and what the possible outcomes will be--for example, if you need further surgery.
The rest is going to depend on you--take someone with you to help make sure you get all your questions answered.
Good luck!
Dr B
