I am pregnant for the 7th time

I am 35 years old. 1st four boys all healthy then I miscarried at 12-13 weeks then 12 months later got pregnant with g/b twins. Had them at 26 weeks the boy is doing well and 18 months old now. The little girl survived for 4 hours and 4 months later my 5 year old boy had acute myeloid leukemia. What is the chance of me having twins this time?
Do you think any of my other children are at risk for cancer.?

Thanks will let you know how I get on early days at mo. Probably be a boy but don't mind either way as getting sterilised straight after.

Hi!
I won't be able to help you with exact numbers, but what I can tell you is that fraternal twins ARE hereditary, so your risk for twins again IS increased.  ALSO as women age, the incidence of twins increases.  As for AML. there DOES appear to be a hereditary link.  First degree relatives (such as sisters and brothers) of AML patients have a three-fold increased risk for developing the disease.
I am very sorry to hear your story, and can completely understand your concerns.  If you want that girl badly enough, it is probably worth the risk. But of course you must think in terms of what is best for the whole family.
Good luck!
