Is it true that when an unmarried lady (of age 30 - 33 year) has a growing fibroid remove while yet unmarried, the fibroid comes back and grows faster then before the first removal. My younger sister was told to get married first before going for the operation. Is it safe to get it out now, what are the implication. Thank you

I'm Africa and I know what you mean. That's just one of those African's ways of thinking. But as the Dr. said marriage has nothing to do with fibroid growth or recurrence.

Hello,

Marriage has nothing to do with fibroid growth or recurrence.  There is an approximately 25% chance of fibroids recurring after surgical removal.

Best regards,
