One day bleeding & negative pregnancy test

One day bleeding & negative pregnancy test

Hello.  My husband and I have been TTC for a year and a half.  His sperm analysis came back good, my LH is a little bit higher then my FSH, and my progesterone suggests that I do ovulate.  I have been doing the at home ovulation tests religiously and I can never tell if they are completely positive or not.  My periods have always been irregular.  There might be as many as 45 days inbetween my cycles, but sometimes its normal. This month I bled for one day and I didn't have any cramping or symptoms.  I usually always have pre-menstrual symptoms.  I only needed one tampon and the blood wasn't dark brown like it was old blood.  It was red in color.  I have taken two pregnancy tests and they have come back negative. I am supposed to start 25mg of Clomid on the 5th day of my cycle, but I am not sure if I should do so since that one day of bleeding didn't really seem like a period at all.  Any advice or information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Hi!
I think that Clomid is a good idea for you, since it sounds like you are ovulating irregularly.
If you were my patient, I would tell you to go ahead and start the Clomid.  I would tell you to count the first day of bleeding as day 1, and then start on day 3.  I might be tempted to do a blood pregnancy test just to be on the safe side too.
Good luck!
