Painful Bloating/spotting between periods

Hi, I am 38 years old and for several years now (about 8 or 9) I have been having intermittent painful bloating spells that last 2 to 3 days. During this time I also have occasional lower back pain and it is also painful to sit. My previous gyno thought that maybe I have IC or IBS. She did do an exam where she used a wand with a camera on the end of it to examine my uterus. The only thing she said was that she did see some lesions (or it could have been adhesions, but I am sure it was the latter) but nothing she was concerned about. I have these episodes at least 2 times a month. For the past few months my period has been longer and heavier. The heavier portion is only 2 days but I at least spot for 6 to 7 days. I have also spotted a few times, usually with thick brown mucus but occasionally I will have clear discharge with veiny type red blood in it, not a lot but some. I do have a new gyno now and when I first mentioned the bloating issue, she wasn't concerned. When I saw her for the second time a few months later, (last week) I told her about the longer periods and spotting. She wants to do a Uterine biopsy to check to make sure nothing is going on there ( I am nervous about this because I get bacterial infections all the time and I am worried about an infection, I will discuss this with her on Friday when I go in) She also wants to do an ultrasound. I am assuming she wants to check for fibroids. I am not sure. I don't think its cancer since the pain has been going on for 8 years and I am on my 3rd gyno and none were concerned, but I am a little worried. From things I have read it could be cancer, fibroids or endometriosis. Could it be stress or pre menopause. My sex drive has also deminished and I am very moody anymore. Some night sweats. My new gyno says I am too young. Any ideas of what it could be? I hope and pray it's not cancer and anyone would. Would I feel sick or be sick if it was cancer after so long?

Also wanted to add to this, I had a pap test done two weeks ago at my appointment and it was normal. Good news! If it is endometrial cancer, does this mean I am still at a stage one if my pap was normal?
