Hi!
Without any further history on you, it is difficult to guess the cause, but I would certainly advise you to see your doctor.  Passing a clot that size is evidence of abnormal bleeding.  Bleeding abnormalities can be caused by a wide variety of problems from infection to blood clotting disorders, or even cancer or pre cancerous conditions.  If you were my patient, I would get you in for an ultrasound of the uterus, and possibly a biopsy of the lining.

Good luck!
