Please help, at the end of my rope.

I'm 31 years old with 3 children living in Australia(twins 13 and 9 year old). For the past 2 years I have had pain in my lower abdo and lower back. However over the past 6 months this pain has become increasly worse. I have been to doctor after doctor about this. Was referred to gyn, and he did pap, blood work and pelvic exam. The blood work came back as increased levels of WBC and CRP (both double) my ca 125 was only 5. I have been on depo for about 9 years. Had ultrasound about year ago and it was normal. Had leeps for CIN 3 about 4 years ago. All paps have come back fine since. I have no appendix. After the birth of my last child I did have PPH with 2.8 blood lose. No problems since. My gyn has referred me for laparoscopy, however due to wainting lists it could be the end of the year before I am seen too. If I pay it would still not happen till Nov. This pain is like mild to moderate contractions, with pain always being in middle lower abdo, with referred pain to mostly right side, however several times to the left. I have lost about 10 pounds in the last few weeks, am bloated all the time and for 5 weeks have had fever and dihheria on and off. Any ideas. Can't take this much longer.

I can definitly can relate but i dont have any answers for you only questions myself.  I'm 22 with 2 children (4 & 2) and was using the nuva ring.  About 2 months ago, I started to have pelvic pain.  After 2 or 3 weeks and removing the nuva ring, I finally went to the ER.  I left the ER and followed up with a GYN for what was PID.  After finishing the antiboitics and a few weeks, I just didnt feel any better.  I have pelvic and back pain, discharge, being weak and fatigue-what seems like all the time, no sexual desire and pain during any sex we've tried to have(My husband going crazy!lol).  I had a period shortly after my 1st visit, which caused alot of pain and clotting.  I went back to the Dr. and he doesn't believe its PID now.  He ordered an ultrasound... and say something about endometrious(i dont think i spelt that right).  I've had no past health problems other than a few UTI while pregnant with my 2nd child.  If u or anyone has an idea, what it may be please share.  Thank u for your time to read this.

Have you been Checked for IBS? Chrons? OR IBD?

I have Irritable Bowel Syndrome and the symtoms are what you are describing. Perhaps it is not anything at all to do with your gynecology..but rather an intestinal problem!

It would be worth checking it out.

I get diahrea, cold sweats, cramping as if having contractions, sick feeling, back pain and abdominal pain and sometimes the pain is bad enough it can make me vomit. Nothing relieves the pain besides bowel movements which can happen all day long. As well, this worsens when I am menstruating!

Hi. I am 36 years of age and I too have had similar symptoms.  For near on 2 years I have suffered from diohrea with pain in my left side.  After a colonoscopy with results normal, I was diognosed with IBS.  At Christmas 2006 I sufferred a very sore lower back around my pelvic region to the point where I was in pain to walk and lie down.   After xrays which were normal, I was given anti-inflammortry drugs and muscle relaxants.  My symtpoms settled after about 5 wks.  However, about a  month later I started to get more intense pain in my lower left side in addition I had nausea with a general feeling of being unwell.  So much so that I thought I may be suffering morning sickness.  However after a pregnancy test was negative I visited the docter once again. Without any smear tests etc, she put me on a dose of antibiotics for treatment of possbile Pelvic inflammatory disease as this is something I had years before I had my 2 children (9 & 11 yrs).  She has aslo performed several blood tests with results normal. She did a urine test which showed some blood in it but with a culture did not grow anything. However, since then I have continued to suffer from pain and soreness in my left pelvic region which has now also spread to my whole pelvic region, mostly front but going around the sides with some bloating. I also suffer from night sweats at times. I have now had a pelvic ultrasound with no abnormalities found.  My periods are regular but very heavy and painful. My docter has said that there is nothing more she can do as she has tried everything and basically I need to just wait and see.  But I have waited for months with these symptoms while they have become worse. I have really asked myself "is this all in my head"?  But I know the pain I have been in is real.  Some nights it wakes me up.  I would really like to know if there is a possible cause for these symptoms and what steps I can take to investigate the matter further.  I am feeling like I am being dismissed by the docter.  Though I know my body and this is not normal for me.

A laproscope seems extreme if you haven" done a CT or MRI first, theyll reveal anything that might be going on quickly & easily, without waiting a long time. Surprised your doc hasn't recommended either of those tests, of course he makes money off surgery, nor tests!

Could be endometiosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome, any number of treatable things. Love to here back from you. Have a friend outside Sydney both parents have cancer..

Good luck!

Yes I have had Ultrasound, about 10-12 months ago, and all looked normal. Well so I was told anyway. I have not had colonoscopy, have asked, but was told it was gyn.
