Question regarding Vaginal Ultrasound

Question regarding Vaginal Ultrasound

Maybe you can relieve my anxiety a little bit I went to Doctor for many things but mainly my Periods have been very heavy and lasting at least seven days some months I have had two periods like this.  I have been experiencing low back pain quite frequently So my Doctor sent me to have an Ultrasound done they did a non vaginal and vaginal ultrasound.  So I go back to Doctor to go over results and she told me that I have a cyst on ovary and an abnormal cervix. So she refered me to OB/Gyn My appt is not until next month and I am a little anxious as to what the abnormal cervix means I know I should just relax wait for appt but it is bothering me.  Do you have any ideas as to what abnormal cervix means I am 45 years old.  Thankyou Terri

Hi!
I am afraid I can't be of much help to you from that vague discription.  I can tell you that if you have had your pap smears and if they have been normal, things are probably fine.
You might have something like a fibroid or Nabothian cyst on your cervix, but both are benign conditions. It can be really frustrating when doctors are so un-informative, but most of the time, it is because they are not sure what the report means either.
Be certain to keep your appointment with your specialist!
Good luck!
