Questions?

I dont really know where this question should fall and I am rather confused on it.  Alright, a lil backround.  I am twenty four years old and have already had 3 pregnancies/ only one live birth.  The other two were miscarriages and only one of those required a D&C.  When I had my daughter almost two years ago, I had a hard time getting pregnant and then had to have a C-section in the end.  Now, I am with a new boyfriend and we just started sleeping together.  Three weeks ago now, we have unprotected sex two days in a row.  I am not sure if it was a fertile time of the month or what, I dont really keep track of that.  Then two weeks after that I started bleeding heavily with severe cramps and nausea.  I went to the dr and they did a urine preg test and it was negative and said that they were not going to do a blood test.  I started getting worse off and then the bleeding abruptly stopped.  I was confused as this is not how my body acts at all.  I am not the most regular person when it comes to periods, but they never just stop like that.  But the cramps continued and so did the nausea.  I ended up being sent to urgent care due to weakness, cramps, and nausea.  They did nothing other than say that i was fine.  I then went home and did a home preg test, but it was too faint to tell if it was positive.  I retested again early this week and it was negative, but I still feel that something is wrong.  My boyfriend and I dont really want another child this early, but what around the chances?  And I was also told by a friend that it could be a chemical pregnancy that caused all that?  Any help here?
Thanks, sorry its so long!

Hello,

Sounds like you are not pregnant.  However, you may want to see an ob/gyn to help discern the nature of the irregular bleeding.  As an aside, a chemical pregnancy would not apply to you.  The term is applied to reproductively assisted pregnancies (such as In vitro fertilization) in which a + pregnancy test is found with no evidence of an early pregnancy.

Best regards,
