Recurring Fibroides..

Recurring Fibroides..

Hi Doctor
I have had a abdominal myomectomy on September 2009. there were 3 large and 2 small fibroid. thet were located on posterior and anterior wall. but while having them i have had no problems like heavy bleeding or heavy menstrual pain. I have consulted doctor just for heaviness on stomach and they found it.

Recently i have had spotting and irregular periods. I have consulted doctor. In sonogram they found one 25*19 mm fiboride.

I am unmarried and sexually inactive right now.

Will i be able to get pregnant?  Do i have to go another surgery? Or what medication should i take?

Hi!
It is quite common for fibroids to recur, or for new ones to appear.
The fibroid that you mention is quite small.  It is unlikely to cause problems with fertility unless it is distorting the cavity of the uterus (endometrium) OR blocking a tube.
If I were your doctor, I would probably recommend observation at this point, and no further surgery.
There really are no good medications to prevent fibroids.  If fibroids cause symptoms such as pressure, bleeding, pain, they can sometimes be treated with medications such as oral contraceptives or Depot Lupron.
If there are no symptoms, I would probably not recommend medication either at this point.
Hope this helps!
