Retained PLacenta - Ongoing problem

Retained PLacenta - Ongoing problem

Long story short, I gave birth nearly 8 months ago, and havent stopped bleeding since. I went to 3 doctors for it, one doctor said not to worry, (2 months after birth) 2nd doctor gave me depo provera injection, ( 3 months after birth), 3rd doctor I concerned grave fear as to why I was still bleeding after shots etc to only be given a prescription for the implanon. I didnt get it as I thought I needed yet another opinion.
I went to a 4th doc, praying to get correct help, to whom booked me for an u/s, to find a piece of placenta still there, attached to my uterus. (8 months later!)
I was then booked for a d&c, got that done 2 weeks ago now, to find the bleeding still hasnt stopped, only gotten heavier.
Im finding myself getting really depressed. My relationship with bf has been under pressure and just within myself feel tired, bloated and worn out, to struggle enjoying motherhood! I love my son with my whole life, but this has all I guess can say, distracted me immensly.

I dont know what to do, I felt it was dismissed so easily with the other doctors, to only put it down to neglegance at birth. (  Birth was natural, normal, received injection in thigh to remove placenta etc.) 8 months now! If I have gotten implanon, I would not have even known this all. please help, any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi!
Number one--stick with doctor number 4!  An ultrasound is one of the first tests I would have ordered!  It isn't terribly unusual to continue to bleed for 2 weeks after a D&C, but it should definitely be slowing down by now.  If not, get another ( YES ANOTHER) ultrasound to be sure there is no hematometria (collection of blood in the uterus).  If there is you may need another ( yes ANOTHER) d&c, so I HOPE NOT!!!!
If the ultrasound looks OK, I would then prescribe antibiotics for a patient of my own, and I would also discuss birth control pills with her.  Generally I start with 2-3 pills per day until the bleeding stops.  ( This should work within 2-3 days ), then I taper off from there down to the normal one pill per day until two packages are finished. Skip the placebos on the first pack.  After the second pack is finished, she would then have the option to continue the pills, or go off.

At least this is a place to start.  You should probably be on iron and a multivitamin.  I like prenatal vitamins and Slo FE for the iron.  Sorry you've been through so much!  Glad you were persistent!
Good luck!
