Undiagnosable Vaginal/Vulval Burning

I am 26 and suffering from vaginal/vulval burning and abnormal discharge.  In December my symptoms began as an intense burning upon urination and frequent need to pee.  I thought it was a UTI and got antibiotics but the pain did not go away.
Soon, I started having vulval burning and abnormal discharge. I was treated with Diflucan and Monistat.  The symptoms did not resolve, so I went back.  She performed a wet mount swab and saw no yeast.  A gynecologist suggested I use baking soda for cytolytic vaginosis.  It provides only temporary relief but.  Nothing else they suggested (Vagisil, hydrocortisone, KY Jelly) helps.  Washing the vaginal area with lots of water provides a few hours of vulval relief.  Using garlic suppositories is the only thing that alleviates the pain for a significant amount of time.
My main symptoms are:  1. vaginal/vulval burning with vaginal discharge contact   2. It usually lasts all month but generally worsens right before my period.  My period is the only time when I have few/no symptoms. 3.  Normally, I  had yellowish/whitish mucousy discharge with a slightly fishy smell.  Now my discharge is practically nonexistent.  It is very very thin with little tiny white clumps in it (not yeast-like clumps…very small).  The clumps appear to be large congregates of shed epithelial cells. The discharge seems to have no smell at all.  When it dries on my underwear it is very dry and flaky  4.  I am in a monogamous relationship have tested negative for chlamydia, trich and BV.  My vaginal pH is ~4-4.5  5.  Before this I was on the NuvaRing for ~8 months but switched back to OrthoTriCyclen (due to spotting on the Ring), then OrthoCyclen a few months preceding the onset of symptoms.  I have subsequently stopped all oral contraceptives and am only currently on a low dose of Effexor.
I have seen my regular doctors many times for this condition and they are out of ideas.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know.  Thank you.

Look up info on vulvodynia, pelvic muscle disfunction.

To ease the pain you can use an ice pack for 15-20 minutes, some women use frozen peas I prefer a cold bottle of beer. Just seems to hit the spot for me.  Also, you can use a small dab of pure coconut oil or crisco directly on your vulvar tissue. This will create a barrier between you and the acidic discharge and neither of those items will create any new pain.

Stay away from all of that over the counter stuff. It's junk. Most of it contains items that can actually increase your pain. Don't use Always brand products. They are a known trigger for allergic reactions. Don't use softner in your laundry and try a dye and fragrance free detergent.

It would really help if you could find a gyn that works with chronic pelvic pain. Many times after being in pain for a while, your pelvic muscles will tighten up and stay that way. This causes your nerves to become hyper sensitive and keep the pain cycle going.  Yes, this can cause all the symptoms of a yeast infection. The constant pain and release of histamines can disrupt  your natural balance causing an over growth in normal bacteria, which in turn  can cause the same symptoms.

Getting checked out by a physcial therapist that specializes in or at least works with chronic pelvic pain could also be key to ending this misery.  It was for me. Vulvodynia suffer for over 3 1/2yrs.

I'm wish I could help you out, but it seems like your gynecologist have worked you up for STD's and other possible causes of vaginal burning. Also I assume your vagina exam/pap smear is normal. I, like your doctor don't have a good answer for your symptoms or how to relieve it.

I would recommend that you avoid washing your vagina even with plain water too much You can set yourself up for a vicious cycle of irritation by your frequent washing on top of what original started your symptoms.  Also, wear cotton panties only and loose fitting pants.
