Uterine fibroid diagnosis

Uterine fibroid diagnosis

I had an ultrasound in 3/09 showing uterine fibroids.  At that time, I decided to wait and see if the bleeding, etc, got worse before doing any treatment.  In the meantime, my doctor passed away.  I then switched to a new doctor who did an ultrasound and said the ultrasound was normal.  I am having a lot of abdominal pressure and bloating and I am miserable most days ... feeling like I am nine months pregnant.  I am also having bladder issues with having to urinary frequency and leakage.  The doctor told me to just take Miralax, but I do not have constipation problems.  Could this be something else besides fibroids. I didnt think fibroids could disappear and now I dont know what is going on with my body.

Hi!
If you were my patient, we would go for 2 out of 3 and do another ultrasound.  Your symptoms could certainly be caused by large fibroids, and large fibroids don't commonly go away on their own.  If there were not any fibroids, the issues could then be addressed individually.  For example, Vesicare is a good medication for urinary frequency and urgency.
I must admit that it sounds like you and your new doctor are on "different wavelegths", and you would probably benefit from a different new doctor!
Good luck!
