Let me start at the beginning I am 31 I was on B/C since 16 may different forms over the years but most recently was Nuvaring. I have stopped B/C in December 4 months ago. My periods were normal and regular (5 days) and were a 31 day cycle.
So that brings us to where we are now, my period was supposed to start 5 days ago. I got cramps and bloating like normal but no period. I had only little blood spot on the day that should have been period day 2, nothing on day 3, brownish mucus day 4, nothing day 5 and brownish mucus again today. All the while I have had cramps.
I too a HPT on period day 3 and it was negative. I am not too concerned if I am pregnant I'm ok with it. But I am worried that this could be some other issue.
Any advice would be great please help.
HI! If you were my patient, I would advise repeating the pregnancy test. If that is negative, I would probably just adopt a wait and see position. If this is just a "weird" cycle, then that is nothing to be too concerned about--those are common. But if you continue to have irregular cycles/bleeding etc. you probably should check in with your doctor. I would check prolactin, thyroid, FSH and progesterone levels at that point. Good luck! Dr B
