What does this ultrasound report mean?

I don't understand some of the terms and some of it sounds a little scary. My Dr. wants me to go to a gyno, but I can't right now because of insurance issues. Here it is:

The uterus measures 10.9 x 4.5 cm in the sagittal plane and 4.8 x 6.6 cm in the transverse plane. The endometrial stripe is slightly thickened at 4.7 mm.

The left ovary measures 4 x 2 cm in the sagittal plane and 2.2 x 3.9 cm in the transverse plane. No large cysts are noted. The right ovary measures 3.3 x 2.2 cm in the sagittal plane and 3.7 x 2.9 cm in the transverse plane with a couple of small 2 to 3 mm cysts present.

Hi!
The information that you added was quite helpful.  Your ultrasound looks pretty normal except for the fact that your uterus is enlarged.  Normal size is 8 cm and yours is 10 cm.  The thickened endometrial stripe can be explained by the fact that you were due for your period.

What I don't know, is why you had the ultrasound in the first place.  I'm assuming that you are having either irregular periods or pain.  I must agree with your GP that a visit to your gynecologist would be a good idea--but I doubt that there will be any need for surgery.

I hope this helps!

I should probably add that I'm 43, have had 3 children, and had this ultrasound done right before the start of my period.
