Where is Flow?

Where is Flow?

For 12 years I've had a regular cycle (once a month, for 7 days) . My last cycle ended April 5th abd I haven't seen it since. I've taken a pregnancy test and had two sonograms, no baby..so what's the problem? Where did Flow go?

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would check a couple of things including an FSH, TSH and prolactin level.  Peri-Menopause and PCOS are probably the most common reason for irregular periods. (excluding pregnancy of course).  One option is to try taking progesterone for 5 days to see if it "causes" a period.  If that doesn't work, the next step is sometimes to take oral contraceptives for a cycle or two.
If your general doctor doesn't know, a gynecologist or reproductive endocrinolgist certainly should be able to help.
Good luck!
