bleeding during sex

hello, i have been with my boyfriend for like three years and this past week on tuesday we had sex and i bled a little during it and it was enough to get it on the sheets. then this morning we had sex again hoping that it wouldnt happen again and sure enough it happend again. this time it was more blood enough to scare me enough to go to a family doctor. he took a look and said that my cervix were irritated but he said that it would go away in a few days when i had already waited a few days. im scared and i would like another opinon but can afford to go to the doctor again please help what would cause me to bleed everytime during sex?!! also there is no pain....

If you were my patient, I would do a pap and wet mount as well as an STD panel (just to be thorough).  Cervicitis can cause bleeding during intercourse.  I would also do a pregnancy test, and an ultrasound.  Sometimes a build up of the lining of the uterus can cause bleeding during sex too. If you have irregular periods, this could be the case.
