cervical

In the past few days I have been having pain in my pelvic area and I have pain during sex also I noticed that my cervix is really low and opened so much I could almost put my finger in it. Im not pregnant and I just had a period 2 weeks ago. We have tons of female problems in the family my mom gets polops(however you spell it) often I had my son a year ago. Also when I was pregnant they told me I had irregular protiens and after I had him they said it was fine. I hope you can help I dont have health insurance to go to the doc. I have been debating on going to the er because the pain is soo bad.

If you were my patient, I would definitely want you to come in for a check up!  I would want to do a complete exam and pap smear, also check for infection.  I would want to determine where the pain is coming from.  It sounds like you may have the beginnings of a prolapse (dropped uterus) but that is usually not painful, so I would look for other causes as well.  I would probably want to do an ultrasound to check for fibroids and polyps as well as endometriosis, also rule out STDs.
For pain, I usually recommend over the counter Ibuprofen or Aleve. That is a good place to start, but I think you are going to need a trip to the doctor in the end!
