increased progesterone level

i have very hairy body for which i am getting laser treatment done and i also got hormonal assay done. on day 2 of menstrual cycle progesterone level is increased . my mens. cycle are irregular.
can i take diane 35 which is a combination of estrogen and cyroterone acetate for this .

Hello,

It sounds like you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).  This is a syndrome marked by hyperandrogenism (male pattern hair growth, virilized hair), infrequent menses, and small follicular cysts on the ovary.  The pill will be helpful in that it will lower the level of androgen hormones in your body and will regulate your menstrual cycle.  Best regards,

Thank you sir for the reply. I got ultrasound done which did not show PCOS. Could it still be PCOS? How should i proceed now?
