i had iud copper inserted after an abortion, but i am discharging light yellow and sticky colour ( like mucos) discharge and i am having pains under by lower tommy it is normal?

Hi!
If you were my patient, I would want to test you for infection.  I would test for chlamydia gonorrhea and bacterial vaginosis.  Depending upon how much discharge is present, and how much tenderness, I would be tempted to treat you with 7-14 days of antibiotics even if the tests were negative.

I would also probably want to do an ultrasound to check to be certain that all of the pregnancy products were removed, and also that the IUD was properly placed.
