looks like a cut or soar in vagina

About 5 days ago i noticed a red area inside my vagina very close to the opening. Its about a dime in size and in is just RED...... it looks like it was cut. It is only  VERY painful when i urinate since the urine touch's it. I took diflucan two days ago thinking it was a yeast infection. it is still the same as 5 days ago. It is ONLY that small area that is iritated, knowhwere else. I had sex two weeks ago, and I am in a commited relationship. What could this be? I never had this before?

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,

Without examining you it is hard to know.  Sounds like it could be a herpetic lesion or perhaps some type of chancre.  You should definitely be seen by a physician ASAP to help make the diagnosis.

Best regards,

Dr. Downing

Hi I really need to fix this problem as its wrecking my relationship!
PLEASE HELP!!!...

First of all im 18.. i have been sexually active since i was 15 i have slept with 3 people one being my boyfriend (now) of 1yr.. i am on the birth control pill i have been for since i was 16. In about september/ October of 2006 it started to hurt after sex, My vaginal lips woud get swollen and quite tender, and a bit red, we used to have sex once a day tho this changed to twice a week.. I skipped my period for 2 months in november and december. In between those two months i started to get really itchy down below, stinging a bit, a swallen vagina and really watery discharge with occasional cheesey lumps it was a creamy light yellowy/ greeny colour it was really painful and irritating.. i told my mum and she said it might be thrush and to get canasten cream at the pharmacy.. he gave me a 6 day treatment to which i used an applicator to put the tablet like things inserted in  my vagina.. i only used 3 because it cleared up.  about a month later i started to get the same thing again so i used the other three. now its gone.. i had my first period just frinsh since the time i skkipped it.. and last night i had sex with my bf for the first time in a while and it hurt me but i didnt want to say anything because hes getting angry, and its now a day later and im still quite swollen and i have 2 tears near my vaginal opening between that and my anus.. its really tender and stings..
Any ideas whats worng??
i am sick of not being able to have sex like i used to and enjoy it!
i have never had a papsmear
and my partner doesnt wear a condom..

i just want to be all better, i dont want him to leave me :(    PLease HELP!

I don't think by putting any special cream on the cut will help.. you must just let it heal naturally.. have a bath every night, its much better than a shower, as when you relax, you're submerged into the water, therefore it will help moisten and clean it... don't use ANY soaps or perfumeries on it... and try not to wear tight clothing... like leggings, or tights, or tight jeans....Also, wear cotton underwear, so that other materials won't irritate it. I have had the exact same problem before, so I hope that helps xx

My boyfriend and I have sex with a condom for about 7 months now, and I've never had any problems. After my most recent period we had sex (with a condom) and it kind of hurt at the beginning. I looked at the inner part of my vagina and noticed smaller than a dime oval. It doesn't hurt unless we have sex, but after having sex for awhile it doesn't hurt anymore. When we take breaks from sex for a day or two it looks better then we do it again and it hurts at the beginning again. It's not red expect for the middle which looks like a rug burn and like a cut. About 2 1/2 years ago I had unprotected sex, but the man said he doesn't have anything.  I'm really scared and the gyno isn't taking anyone till March. What could it be? Is it possible that the condom just rubbed on me funny?

I recently had sex and i went to take a shower afterward and i have artificial nails that are a little sharp on the edges and I scratched myself. The cut is very close to the opening of my vagina inside the lips. I was wondering is there anything besides keeping the area dry and clean that I can do in order to speed up the healing process.

It sounds like a yeast infection. You should get some monistat. They're really easy to use and the 3 day treatments usually come with a cream you can rub on between treatments to help with the itch. You could also go to planned parenthood. Everything is anonymous at those clinics and believe me it's nothing new to them so there is really nothing to be embarrassed about. But if nothing else get some monistat.

I'm a girl, and 17years old....

I'm really embarrassed to go to the doctors to get this checked out, and am also embarrassed as Im going to go into alot of detail in this 'help' message as its anonymous. My vagina is soar, a little red inside and looks and feels really dry on the lip bits. Its itchy inside, and I've got discharge, but I'm due for my period and usually get discharge before it too. However, its really uncomfortable, and im scared. I'm in a relationship, and have sex, using condoms, and my partner and I always blow the condom after sex to ensure that there is no split. I''ve had thrush before, and took this one tablet the pharmacy gave me, and it seemed to have cleared up ages ago, but i've got this itchyness inside again (round about a month after visiting the pharmacy), and its a little red, i'd say, slightly swollen, when i stretched my legs out, to see what exactly was wrong, it looks ALMOST as if the skin is peeling, its dry and soar. My boyfriend, has orally pleasured me, and has put his fingers inside me... Just thought I'd bring that up, so that I've told it all...

Please help... I'm really worried.... (By the way, it DOESN'T burn when I urinate)

Please help...

The same thing happened to me twice. I went to see the doctor and she thought it was herpes, but the tests came back negative. I still don't know what it is. Mines was on the outside too, and it burned when I urinated. The doctor said it wasn't "ulcerated" so she didn't think it was at first, but it cam back like 7 months later. Well needless to say each time it went away after about a week. I just hope it wont come back again.

I just saw the doctor and she says it's a "fissure," probably a little cut--could have been from a rough fingernail while washing-- that isn't healing because it's difficult for things to heal in that location. It's been there two months!

She recommended using Neosporin on it after going to the bathroom.

Re-reading your original post I see yours is inside, but mine is just outside the opening. Still, I suppose you could get a little cut on the inside too... seems possible. But best to see your doctor in any case.

I have the same thing!! I was thinking it's a little fungus infection.

Doctor--can women get jock itch there!? just in one little spot without spreading??

My fungus theory is based on the fact that I do have chronic problems with this under all my midsection "overhangs" (belly and breasts), I'm 50 lbs overweight. I thought it just spread "south." Also my husband recently got a big case of jock itch. Did I give it to him, or vice versa? (We are both LIFELONG one-relationship people, it didn't come from outside.)

I've been spreading an antifungal cream on the sore spot just adjacent to the vaginal opening (it's on one side only) and at first it seemed to help, but not now.

It does feel like a cut--maybe I cut myself while washing with a rough fingernail and it hasn't healed? (in several weeks).

You can't get herpes except through sex, can you? We don't sit on public toilet seats, either.
