Hello,
If you are having a notable change in your menstrual cycle for more than three months you should present to your ob/gyn discuss this with them and they should then pursue a workup. Some reasons a woman's menses may increase in duration are uterine fibroids, thyroid hormone changes, or endometrial polyps. You'll want to discuss these issues and others with your physician.
Best regards,

hi! I'm 24 and I wanted to know if someone knows the answer to my Q. I've been on the pill since I was 19-20 and my periods were always fine, but in these last 3-4 months I noticed a very verydark discharge when my period first starts, it almost looks black, and there's blood clots and maybe tissue? is that normal? then it kinda gets normal, but the blood is still very dark. my period lasts like 3-4 days now cuz I've been taking the pill for so long. My friend sais it's normal to have dark discharge at times?
