please help me

Hi, Im hoping you can help me, Im 31 years old. Ive been to the doc since June 2010 re: the same problems. Painful sex, bleeding after sex, bleeding between periods, pain above the pubic area (kind of ovary area), also I had an abnormal smear test in June 2010, I had a colposcopy (severe diskarosis), during the colposcopy, a mass was removed using the 'loop'?? I then went for my follow up smear in Dec/Jan, this came back abnormal again, I went for another colposcopy about 3weeks ago, during which the doc said he cant see any abnormal cells, and I do not have much of a cervix left actually, because they took so much away last time, he did another smear test and I got the results back today, it is abnormal again, I have to go for ANOTHER colposcopy. During all of this, I saw a different doctor who told me I may have a pelvic infection, I was sent for swabs, testing for pelvic infection, other infections and chlamydia, these all came back fine, but the doctor gave me antibiotics for a pelvic infection anyway because they said thats what they think I have and it just may not have shown up on the swabs. I stopped taking them after 2 days because they made me sick, I then got thrush, I don'tknow if that was from the antibiotics or not. I also get a dull ache in my lower back, but get this very very painful sharp stabbing pain in my back behind my ribs. I am not sure whether to tell my doctor about this, unless he can see something, he does nothing about it, he'll press my back and asks if it hurts, if it does not, he wont do anything, but this pain is so bad sometimes, if I am driving, it makes me jump in agony and actually squeal. I have asked to the see the nurse at the surgery on tuesday next week, that was difficult enough, but I don't think she can refer me to anyone else, it has to be my doctor, whom we don't have much faith in anymore, as he missed a brain tumour in my sister for 10 years.
I really really would appreciate any advice you could give me.

Thank you

Hi!
I'm not too sure which question to answer!  The upper back pain, or flank pain, could theoretically be due to a kidney stone.  That should be easy enough to diagnose with a CT scan.  The abnormal paps need to be followed up, but I can't imagine why they are doing colposcopy so often.  Every 6 months would probably be adequate depending upon the abnormality noted on the smears.  I suspect that the antibiotic that they gave you was Metronidazole, and it often makes people sick -- it sounds like they were trying to treat bacterial vaginosis.  It isn't absolutely necessary to treat that unless you have bothersome symptoms.  If they feel it is important to treat, you could request a vaginal suppository instead of the oral medication.
I hope there's something useful in here!
Good luck!
