uncomfortable vagina

ive had an uncomfortable vagina for about 6mths now find it uncomfortable to have sex. it feels inflamed inside. took flagyl for bv and antibiotics for urine infection both never worked. it burns  when i put lubricant inside. been to see 2 gynaocologists..first one gave me anit depressant which i never took and the second one gave me dermovate cos my labia looked inflammed. i stopped taking cerazette last year and not been right since, could this have caused a hormone imbalance?

Hi!
The symptoms you are describing are commonly reported in this forum, but also present a real diagnostic and therapeutic dilemma.  A hormone imbalance is definitely a possibility.  And re-starting the pills might not be a bad idea.  At least you would know if they were helping.  Personally, I think this "syndrome" is due to an infection that we can't diagnose, or an allergic response to antibiotics.  I have no science behind me -- it seems that no one else can get help either.  Do not despair because often the condition seems to resolve on its own given enough time.
Sorry I'm not more helpful!

Hi! Im not a doctor or anything but Iv been reading up on things like this and I reccomend that you try acidopholis pills (you can get them at trader joes) I think what you are discribing has to do with candida yeast over growth in your body. Are you overweight? This tends to be more common with people that are overweight. Also you should try to cut back on starchy, carbs, and sweet sugary foods. Like white bread, any food that dosent have a nutrional value, and large amounts of fruit or fruit juice. This problem with candida overgrowth is also usually brought on/ or works in conjuction with a hormonal imbalance issue. Either estrogene or progestrone dominance. If you use a bbt chart for a couple months you can learn more about your cycles and will eventually be able to tell if you have a hormone imbalance. You might also try viatmin c. (This has been shown to fix low levels of progestrone.) Or Vitex which can balance out of whack hormones. Either way you should try to tak that acidophilus. I do know that anti-biotics are known to disrupt your natural levels of good bacteria in your digestive tract. (Similar to the good bacteria you want to have available to balance your vaginal ph levels.) And most doctors reccomend taking acidophilus with any anti-biotic to help keep your good bacteria at the right levels. It seems to go hand in hand with the connection the doctor above made with the anti-biotics. Hopefully this helps. ; ) Good luck.
