yeast infection

yeast infection

I've had a chronic yeast infection for several years. It is somewhat painful and I have a little bit of discharge. I've tried terconazole cream and Fluconazole pills. I am a virgin in every way and have never done anything with anyone. My gyno is at a loss with what to do. She said it is a yeast infection and at one point I had a secondary infection. She did a wet mount (?) each visit.. I think that's what it was called.

I'm 23 years old. I bathe daily and I always use unscented products. I don't drink or use illegal drugs. I also do my annual paps, and I had two sonograms and all it showed was a cyst that went away.

I have fibromyalgia and complex partial seizures. my periods are extremely painful and I get extremely nauseous.

Is there some other test I can do or something else I can try?

Thanks.

Hi!
Some women have an immune system that predisposes them to yeast infections.  They just seem to acquire them and not be able to clear them.  There are some options that you can try. . .
Sometimes a yeast culture can be obtained which shows an organism that is resistant to standard treatments, but sensitivities can be performed and other antifungal agents may be effective.
Sometimes long term (6 months) daily therapy with Fluconazole can be effective.
Sometimes women can use monthly short courses of therapy can be effective, especially if symptoms worsen right before the period is due.
Hope something here might help you!
Good luck!
