What is the most common cause of pain in the lower abdomen in women?

Hi!
Hands down, its Irritable Bowel Syndrome.  Most Americans don't eat properly, and as a consequence many of us suffer from irritable bowel syndrome.  This causes pain in the lower left and also the lower right abdomen.
Number two on the list would have to be menstrual cramps, which typically are located in the middle of the abdomen below the belly button.
Hope this answers your question!

Hi I've been having lower abdomen pain for a while off and on and it seems like when I'm on my period I have the worst cramps in the world and I don't know what it is? There sharp intense pains and when I'm on my period the cramps last for 5minutes at a time. Also, sometimes more fallopian tubes feel like there are sore and I get throbbing pains and this is also off and on and I asked the doctor and she found a UTI but could this be something else that can be serious to my health?
