I had the same problem... and the first time i went to a gyno was because I couldn't take it anymore. I was super terrified because I went alone. It's no biggie though... Like maybe u can confide in someone...like your mom or sister or a best friend or something so they can help you through it. I was scared it was some type of STD... but it wasn't (I was not sexually active).
Anywhos... the doctor tells me that it's a vaginal infection which can cause the it to itch. They give you this cream and you insert it into your vagina. After a while it feels better...less itchy. The problem is that it comes back.... for me anyway... This week I visited the gyno. the guy was in and out in 5 minutes or less... He gave me this cream to treat the outside of it... and told me to stay out of the pool... (I dont go swimming) *shruggs... if you can ask your gyn to find out ways to prevent it maybe you can share with me.
But you should confide in someone close to your family. It's very common and perhaps your mom or sister or aunt has been through it. After I went to the gyn... I told my mom and she told me she would get it sometimes toos... I wished I told her earlier...so i wouldn't have been so scared. till now... I still flinch when they touch me to examin me. gOod Luck!
I agree with Mrs. Williams for a yeast infection. You can also you capsules of probiotic and/or acidophilus alternating with diluted douches of apple cidar vinegar. It's best to leave the capsules in over night and do the douching in the morning.
If you get yeast infections on a regular basis, I suggest getting to your primary doctor ASAP and getting checked out thyroid disease and diabetes. Frequent infections are signs of both of these diseases.
