I'm 41, 4 children ( 12.9.8.7) 2 miscarriages, never any isues with fertility
never any gyn issues...med hx of ulcerative proctitis/colitis
Went for an u/s in 2006 ( cycle day 6) uterus measured 7.9 endometrial stripe measured 6mm.
repeat in 2007 ( cycle day 9) uterus measured 9.1 endometrial stripe measured 8mm.
both were read by radiologist as "unremarkable".
Saw MD yesterday for annual and she said my uterus was a little enlarged.
She is sending me for a repeat us after my next menses.
I have never had any irregular bleeding, no pain,. My cycles have always been 29-31 days in length, flow is about 3 days, never too heavy, etc..
Only in the past 6 months have my cycles lengths changed to 26-28 days, still the same amount of flow, ,no cramps etc..
I have always comlained of severe pain during ovulation...lower backache, very tender to touch lower abd. Intercourse during that 1 or 2 days is painful. However, it goes away as soon as my temp jumps up and ovulation is over.
some months about a week before my period is due, my ovaries feel tender,too...but nothing as bad as ovulation.
my questions:
1. should I be concerned with her assessment of enlarged uterus?
2. are the ultrasounds concering?
3. Is the endometrial stripe at 8mm a cause for concern?
4. does it mean I have endometrial cancer?

Hello,
There is no cut-off for what is the normal thickness of the endometrial stripe in a menstruating woman. None of the measurements you note are very thick if you consider the upper limit of normal in a postmenopausal woman is 5mm. I suggest you await the follow up ultrasound. I'd add, nothing you have reported here sounds concerning.
